Eamonn O'Loghlin Scholarship Fund
About the Eamonn O’Loghlin Scholarship Fund
Established in 2013 in memory of the CNE’s then-Director of Sponsorship & Partnerships who passed away suddenly that year, the Eamonn O’Loghlin Scholarship Fund bestows grants to assist outstanding post-secondary students as they pursue their studies. Students employed by the Canadian National Exhibition or Exhibition Place, who work at the annual CNE, are eligible to apply. Scholarship recipients exemplify the values of the CNE Foundation and honour Eamonn O’Loghlin’s indomitable spirit, his love for Canada, and his commitment to youth, community service and the CNE.
2024 Scholarship Recipients
The Canadian National Exhibition Foundation was pleased to return in 2024 with two post-secondary scholarships to be awarded through our Eamonn O’Loghlin Scholarship Fund.
The applicants’ academic excellence and dedication to community service was truly impressive. These talented and dedicated individuals also make meaningful contributions during their work terms at the CNE. Following a comprehensive staff review process, two candidates emerged as the successful recipients: Ngozi Otuogbodor, Photo ID Taker, Exhibitor and Concessionaire Credentials Office, Toronto, ON, and Ilhaan Jivani, Manager, 50/50 and Silent Auction Programs, CNE Foundation, Toronto, ON.
Our 2024 Eamonn O’Loghlin Scholarship recipients not only exemplify the values of the CNE Foundation, but also demonstrate values that we feel would have been important to the Fund’s namesake as well, both academically and in terms of their community work and leadership.
Each recipient has been awarded $1,500 to assist with costs related to a post-secondary program, such as tuition, course fees or course books.
Thank you to all seasonal employees of the CNE and the CNE Foundation who submitted applications and congratulations to our successful scholarship recipients.
